The holiday season is here and, with it, comes a myriad of seasonal fun and festivities. You don’t have to look far to find holiday cheer in Sonoma County.

To help you plan your holiday schedule, we’ve rounded up 13 of Sonoma County’s can’t-miss celebrations and holiday events. Enjoy!

1. Elf the Musical

Enjoy this must-see holiday musical based on the 2003 film hit starring Will Ferrell. It’s got high-energy music, tons of laughs, and an entertaining story that will stay in your holiday memories for years to come. 

Where: 6th Street Playhouse, 52 W 6th Street, Santa Rosa

When: November 24-December 17

2. Holiday in Healdsburg: Sip, Savor & Shop

Explore the charm of downtown Healdsburg on a walking tour that has become a much-loved holiday tradition for over 10 years. Marvel at the colorful window displays and festive decorations on the streets, listen to the sounds of the carolers and hop on a horse-drawn carriage. Enjoy some festive bites and drinks, too, on this four-hour guided tour.

3. Winter Lights: Skating on the Square

Bring out your family and friends for this seasonal skating event in downtown Santa Rosa. If you want to get dressed up, come out for a themed night like 70s Disco and Ugly Sweater. Tickets offer a 45-minute skating time; arrive 15 minutes early to check-in, sign the waiver, and get your skates. 

Where: Courthouse Square, Fourth St. and Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa

When: November 25-December 31; Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00-8:00 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00-8:00 p.m.

Cost: $10.50/person

4. Transcendence’s Holiday Spectacular

Looking for something a little more musical? Transcendence’s Holiday Spectacular is a must-see event. This annual show features a family-friendly performance by Broadway performers with plenty of holiday cheer. Be sure to pick up a glass of wine and cookies before the show!

Where: Hanna Center, 17000 Arnold Dr., Sonoma

When: December 1-10

5. Christmas at Jordan

For a true wine-country holiday experience, head to Jordan Winery for their annual holiday celebration. This year, the winery is transforming into a charming Le Marché de Noel, or Christmas market. You’ll experience elegant decor, festive lighting, a chef’s selection of hors d’oeuvres, and, of course, amazing wines. Cocktail attire is encouraged. 

Where: 1474 Alexander Valley Road

When: December 2 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

6. Handmade Holiday Crafts Fair

Featuring over 90 local artisans and crafters, the fair is a great place to find unique holiday gifts for loved ones. This fantastic event allows you to shop for anything from holiday decor, home goods, bath and body items, gourmet eats, and more. Guests can also enjoy live entertainment and lunch available to buy from local restaurants.

Where: Finley Community Complex, 2060 West College Avenue, Santa Rosa

When: Saturday, December 2nd-Sunday December 3rd, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Cost: $5, free for children 12 and under

7. Wreath Workshop at Cline Vineyard Estate

Where: Cline Vineyard Estate, 24737 Arnold Drive, Highway 121, Sonoma

When: December 2nd and 3rd from 2:00-4:30 p.m.

Cost: $85.00/person or $75.00/club member

8. Holiday Skating Shows at Snoopy’s Home Ice Rink

This family-friendly event is hosted at the famous Snoopy’s Home Ice Rink and features professional figure skaters and dancers. The free shows are made possible by the Redwood Ice Theatre Company and Sonoma Clean Power. 

Where: Snoopy’s Home Ice Rink, 1667 West Steele Lane, Santa Rosa

When: Various showtimes from December 8-10

Cost: Free

9. Christmas Tea Party: Teas from Around the World

Celebrate the holidays at the Ranch overlooking beautiful Lake Sonoma. Your ticket includes 5 flights of tea tastings from around the world and an amazing charcuterie spread. There will also be some wine and treats to end the evening. A tea sommelier will walk you through your tastings and there will be live music throughout the vent. 

Where: The Ranch at Lake Sonoma, 100 Marina Road lot A, Geyserville

When: Saturday, December 9 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Cost: $80.00

10. Holiday Cookie Workshop & Wine Social

Join pastry chef Marina Medan for a fun afternoon of cookie decorating and socializing. Each guest will receive six pre-baked cookies and all the icing and tools needed to create beautiful designs. Tickets also include mulled wine and holiday bites. 

Where: St. Francis Winery & Vineyards, 100 Pythian Rd at Hwy 12, Santa Rosa

When: Sunday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.

Cost: $125.00/person or $100.00/club member

11. Light Up the Night: Chanukah Festival

Join the local Chabad Jewish Center to celebrate Chanukah this year. The event will feature live music, grand menorah lighting, crafts, prizes, and latkes and donuts to enjoy. 

Where: Montgomery Village, 911 Village Court, Santa Rosa

When: December 11 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

12. White Lotus New Year’s Eve Party at the Flamingo Resort

Ring in the new year, Aloha-style. This event is designed around The White Lotus (season 1) with a night of adventure, mischief, and revelry at the iconic Flamingo Resort. Mercy & The Heartbeats are headlining the main stage as well as other performances throughout the night. Grab your Mai-Tai and enjoy!

13. Winter Wineland

Wine tasting is always a popular activity, but it becomes extra special during the Annual Winter WINEland event in Northern Sonoma. With 60 participating wineries across Sonoma County, each winery will offer a selection of their best wines for you to try.

Where: Various Sonoma County Wineries

When: January 13-14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m-4:00 p.m.

Cost: $95.00 for a weekend ticket, $75.00 for Sunday only and $10.00 for designated drivers
